all of the resources that we need to develop
into our full human potential and to transform
our world, realizing the truth expressed in
the ancient Vedas that ‘We Are All One Family’.
We invite you to join with us and become
a living realization of ‘the change you wish
to see in the world’...and assist others to
do the same – become a teacher!
Nirvana:
a state of perfect peace or enlightenment.
Nirvana's
Director:

Asha Gayle Dieleman, 500-hr Registered Teacher,
is founder and director of Nirvana School of
Yoga, and is the principle teacher for all of
the workshops and programs. Asha is a former
director of the Teacher Training Program at
Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts and has
coached hundreds of students through the transformation
from practitioner of yoga to teacher of yoga.
Asha’s life has revolved around spiritually,
yoga, dance movement, and teaching: as a dedicated
meditator, spiritual seeker, fitness/dance instructor,
and peace activist in her 20’s; as a yoga teacher,
teacher trainer, and student of the world’s
spiritual traditions in her 30’s; and now in
her 40’s as a mother, and director of her own
school. Asha is blessed to have been taught
by many of the world’s best teachers while on
staff at the Kripalu Center. She has studied
with Yogi Amrit Desai, Beryl Birch Bender, Judith
Lasater, Lilas Folan, Anodea Judith, Caroline
Myss, John Friend, and many more...At Kripalu
Center from 1994-2001, Asha was fully immersed
in the Kripalu teaching methodology, mentored
as a trainer of yoga teachers over several years,
and finally employed as a director of the Teacher
Training program. During these years she operated
her own yoga studio in Winnipeg, Canada and
hosted a popular television program on yoga.
Asha has also traveled extensively in the Mayalands
of Mexico and participated in initiation ceremonies
with various Mayan spiritual teachers including
Elder Hunbatz Men, Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez
Oxlaj of Guatemala, and Quetza-sha, the father
of her children. For the past decade she has
passionately explored the connections between
spiritual traditions in Mexico and in Vedic
India. Asha is currently writing a book on Maya
Yoga. Her teachings reflect an integration of
the ancient wisdom of the East and the West.
Asha is currently available for workshop
presentations (see under 'Special Programs')
and to lecture on Maya Yoga.
